4,200,000 acres burned
9,248 structures destroyed
Let’s protect California.
About Our Foundation
The California Climate Defense Fund focuses on three initiatives:
- Carbon Capture and Storage
- Regenerative Agriculture
- Wildfire Prevention
We’re a group of scientists, developers, inventors, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, designers, producers, farmers, and business owners that are focused on solving key problems that California faces.
Carbon Capture and Storage
Carbon Capture and StorageĀ is the process of capturing waste carbon dioxide, transporting it to a storage site, and depositing it where it will not enter the atmosphere. CCDF usesĀ biochar to store carbon in a stable form, preventing the CO2 from organic matter from leaking into the atmosphere, where it contributes to climate change.
Wildfire prevention
Wildfire prevention focuses on consumption of waste biomass to redirect hazardous, flammable fuel, from the environment to a process that converts it into water retaining products. Reducing the footprint of the biomass available to be burned in wildfires, strategically protects the state.
Regenerative agriculture
Regenerative agriculture targets topsoil regeneration, increasing biodiversity, improving the water cycle, enhancing ecosystem services, supporting biosequestration, increasing resilience to climate change, and strengthening the health and vitality of farm soil.
